How do I change the images for each month, the monthly grids, or month names?
The configuration notecard is what is used to set your images as well as the month names. Rez the calendar inworld, edit the calendar, and go to the contents tab. There, you will see a notecard called "Config." Open that notecard and change the settings in there.
Edit Object: Content Tab
Back: This is the image on the back of the calendar. You can put the UUID for your image here. This does not need to be set in the configuration notecard. It can also be set by setting the texture face with the image you want to display.
Logo: This is the logo iimage on the front of the calendar, between the calendar picture and the calendar grid. Like the back image, this can also be set by setting the texture face with the image you want to display.
Month##Img: The ## is a number from 01 to 12. This corresponds to the image that you wish to display for each month on the top of the calendar. Place the UUID for the individual month pictures in the corresponding month number. 01 being January, 12 being December.
Month##Cal: The ## is a number from 01 to 12. This corresponds to the image for the month grid on the bottom of the calendar. This will have default month UUIDs for 2016. You can either create your own month grids and put your own UUIDs there, or purchase updated calendar grids for future years from my store.
Month##Name: The ## is a number from 01-12. This corresponds to the name for the month, such as 01 being January. If you wish to localize your calendar for a different language or specific RP setting, you can change the month names here.
Dialog Text: This is the text that will appear on the menu dialog when the end user clicks on the menu. The text here can be changed to your own language or display whatever other message you wish to display.
How do I get the UUID for the textures I wish to use?
Copy Asset UUID
I want to use images that were created for me from another person in SL. How do I get the UUIDs from those images?
Contact the person who created the images first, and ask them for permission to include their images in your calendar. They can give you the appropriate UUIDs for the images.
My calendar keeps spitting out error messages every few seconds. How can I fix that?
Edit Object: General
Please rename the calendar before distributing it.
To avoid confusion, you will want to rename your calendar before you give it to anyone else. On the General Tab, change the name on the name line.
Calendar currently has modify for the next owner. Please remove the modify permissions for the next owner.
The permissions are full permissions by default. You cannot distribute the calendar with full permissions. You will need to remove the modify permission from the calendar. This is done on the General Tab, at the bottom. You will see next owner with all three boxes checked. Uncheck Modify to make this error go away.
Inventory Item Properties
The config notecard is also full permissions. You will want to remove the modify permission from the next owner on the config card. This is necessary to protect your images.
Go to the Contents tab, right-click on the config notecard and go to properties. Here you will see the next owner permissions. You will want to make sure that modify is unchecked.
In addition, you will want to make sure that the calendar script and the config notecard has the same permissions as the calendar itself, to allow you to correctly distribute your calendar.
I purchased the calendar grid for the new year. How do I update my calendar?
You have two options. Either replace the config notecard with the new notecard, or copy the appropriate lines from the config notecard into your existing config notecard. The important thing is to make sure that you only have one config notecard in your calendar.
First option: Rez the calendar inworld. Edit the calendar and go to the Contents tab. Delete the old Config notecard. Drag the new Config notecard for the existing year in it’s place. Update the rest of the options for your pictures, month names, as mentioned above.
Second option: Open the new Config notecard and copy the lines that say Month##Cal, where the ## is a number from 01 to 12, then close the notecard. Rez the calendar inworld. Edit the calendar and go to the Contents tab. Open the Config notecard and replace the Month##Cal lines with the lines you copied from the new notecard.
Can I make my own calendar grids and sell them?
Yes! If you make a grid available in another language, or just have a different style of grid that you want to sell, please do so. Just make sure you sell the config notecard with full permissions so that people can change the pictures on their calendar.
